                                                    A Date with Leather

Leather has always been the fabric to declare control. Whether sporting it laced as pants or strutting in those chanel boots, you are on the break of chaos when in that skin. But chaos is not always a bad thing, as long as you know how to control it. Although leather may seem like a fabric that needs companionship with a softer more girly piece of clothing, leather can stand alone without producing too much sex appeal or giving off a harsh punk vibe. The secret? Its all in the structure.

Leather can be its own girly companion just by its shape. As long as the lines of the garment follow the the curve and length of your body, this fabric can give class to a women without sucking the femenity out of her. But I dont mean tight leather, I mean leather that falls within the drape of your body. Because of the bulkiness, yet fluidity of it, it can be worn top to skirt to boots. How? Just like any other outfit there has to be body, shape, and glamour all in one.

Body? The Peplum fringe of the top gives a young spirited vibe to the look. Without it the model may look fine because she is rather slim but on a curvy women she would come off too sexy to the point of vulgur. Galmour? Thats in the floral design in the top. Wearing all black has also become very popular but to relieve the tension of the outfit and make it more lively you need to add not only a good cut but texture in the fabric. This gives the outfit dimension. Shape? The leather pants give it that saucy edge and saves it from a morbid vibe. Ofcourse you could go with a dark blue washed pair of skinny jeans and still remain just as classy but classy with punk is an unforgetable mixture that will leave you being the spark in the room that nobody can take their eyes off of.

With winter on its way and the new trends already popping up in our most beloved magazines, I have been seeing a lot of boxy patterned knit designs accompanied with new version of leather. Unforutnatley I will not be rocking any trench coats or added studs. I'm more of the live-light-thickly kind of girl. After all, Cali is no friends with ice. Just the desperate rain that comes once in a while at a second chance at love. (It soon realizes that California isnt a monogamist type of gal, so it moves on to its lovely home in Europe.) But I have to admit, I was very attracted to some of the asthetic that was modeled out. I loved the thickness of the patterened knit. It gave inspiration and lead me to many new ideas on what winter means to me. I also enjoyed the mixing of leather to relive the vivaciousness of the 80's. But instead of wearing the leather on my legs and grandpa-knit on top, I wanted introduce a new idea to you all. Switch it. And then add color. And I dont mean color as in kind-of-tacky-fabric or a generic add-on belt. No, I mean add color to your face. Particularily your lips. Yellow will be my go to (because I think it has great potential to be a winter must have ). I find a good tone of yellow generates a classy vibe that can also project some retroness in too. Inorder to accomodate to my element of surprise I would pair this with a dark rustic-feel outfit. For example, Long sleeved leather croptop with grey knitted circle skirt and white sneakers. I find that their is this pattern of mixing the old with the now. But I think it would be far more thrilling to pair the old with the older. The 60's shoes and skirt to the 80's punk, leading right up to the 70's lips. Its a total blast from the past in the least tacky way possible! Feeling homesick? The modernize it up with slicked backed hair with loose curls at the end. Although my outfit that I layed out below doesnt portay what is really in my head I still like the idea of it. I love the very pure knit skirt. Even though the one below is skater structure i still believe that it would still keep in theme to the time machine theme we got going on here. As for the leather top I would prefer a long sleep crop with a normal crew neck collar. Ofcourse I think the top below would work fine but its not very winter friendly. If you had a little loser long sleeved on and you layered a thin knit turtleneck crop top under I think that would look very effortless and adorable.

My winterwonderland is one of all ages and genres but thats what I am commited to. I really believe that this outfit will cause a hurricane of endless combination and timeless grace. It suits all body types and it offers something new to the table.

Versace, Prada, Gucci. These labels are some of the finest in the industry. Like it or not they dictate what your new taste will be simply because they can express the human spirit better than anybody else. They feed your hunger of being that unpredictable free women that can still retain power and dominance at the same time. We rely on them to produce our stamp of independence. So what will that stamp be in the fall and winter season? Leather will of course be an un comprisable part of our outfits. Wool too. Very extravagant trench coats will be on the most fashion forward silhouettes. But what will give us that edge that no one saw coming? What will reshape and revamp every woman’s identity? Well what I have taken in account was color and new trials of juvenile accessories.

Gauges have never been a huge hit on my list of needs. They started out as another naive way to prove the amount of punkness that a 15 year old can behold. It had no anger or intelligence. It never screamed anything worth hearing. It was just a plastic spike that teens with damaged hair wore. But I do give props to the fact that they wore it because now, Im obsessed. Why? Well as for many items, dress it in gold and can immidiatley turn into the new symbol of resiliance. So now I am on the hunt for very large bold, full body gold taper gauges. Don't see my vision yet? Well try seeing these with a high bun, flawless skin, bold red lips, and a simple cat eye. These earing will take your edginess up a notch on those tired quick fix days. You will look high end and fearless. You will be the new face of chic.

Another hit that I see coming from these lines are new style of sunglasses. Remember those old

90's-millenium movies where you see those journalist

with those mysterious canny glasses? Well there back baby and I see a whole array of outfits

that can be made with these. Lets add onto these nineties

moment with an old biker jacket. Too even out the hardness of this look under the jacket

will lie the general button up with a striped or color

blocked sweater underneath. Bottom of that leads to so many options!

You can be modest and just wear some dark washed or boyfriend jeans,

take it up a notch by rocking some leather skirt or pants, but I think what will really set you

apart would be for a light blend wool trousers. DO NOT

match the same colors of the sweater with the pants but go for darker.

This Charlie Brown effect can be cute but the leather relieves it of too much

quirkiness so that you don’t come across to funny.

Color. Color. Color. Pastel has been the eye candy for many but that time is slowly evolving to the defined grungy colors of yellow, purple, green and red, and I cant wait. I feel like Clueless is reviving with its shiny leather and its plaid skirts and we are all ready for it. Like I said in my last post, I predict that the retro vibes are on its way back, starting with yellow. It’s such an unnatural color that vibrates any apparel into something of extraterrestrial fashion. Green has always had class and gives women a way of breaking free of what we usually see in red. To me it’s a new form of matureness that lets new light in on old ways. Red is a classic finish to any outfit but all of this class will be reverted back to its 90's way with more shiny leather and new shades of brightness. Purple has also been given a chance as a new concept. I have been seeing a lot of it, dark and glossy in the form of trench coats and long gowns and I think this is the color I am most excited for because it is seen very juvenile due to some celebrities. I'm not exactly sure how it will find its way into our wardrobe but I'm sure we can figure it out. out.

Pins and needles have reached new heights in the world of class. But as usual that is not enough for their position in the roles of our lives. Yah sure gold chains have exuded its stereotype into a glamorous touch in otherwise plain modest outfits but we can do more and the designers certainly have. Hardware and metals are getting bigger and badder. A really inspiring piece that gave me so much more ideas is the purple Versace gown. Without its long nails that seemingly connect the beautiful pieces together, it would have just seemed like another beautiful dress. But those doses of grunge and pure dirtiness make it into a much larger being. It gives it so much more ascendancy. It makes me want to cry with downright compassion and love that pieces like that can exist on me and make me feel like a bigger more supreme version of myself.

Last but not least, off the shoulder is renewing its self in cardigan, sweater, and jacket form. I find that there is so much beauty in the neck, collarbone, and shoulders of a woman. It’s her frame. It’s the most delicate part of all females and it should be shown to all. So I thank Prada for understanding my pure adoration of off the shoulder. They have reformed it into a new way that I believe will recreate what the gods of fashion have intended for every lady to obtain.

I am in pure awe of all the designers. It truly makes me so emotional watching all these fabulous pieces walk down the runway. I take what they create very seriously and am very obliged to the versatility that they continue to have. People never understand that small sharp changes like these hold so much on their own and without that speck of individuality you have nothing. If I ever get any designer, big or small, reading this just know that my life is better because of you. I am truly indebted to your wondrous creative mind. Keep creating, I need it and so do you.
